Mesh Deviation Analysis Plugin for Rhino

Through the course of our professional reverse-engineering work, we developed a Rhino plugin that quickly visualizes the deviation between a mesh scan and a reference surface.

The plugin generates a false-color deviation map, allowing users to instantly see where a surface is above, below, or within tolerance relative to the scanned mesh.

This provides a fast and intuitive way to evaluate the accuracy of reverse-engineered surfaces, making it easier to validate modeling work and identify areas requiring refinement.

The tool was designed specifically for workflows involving 3D scanning, surface reconstruction, and Class-A or production-ready surfacing, where understanding mesh-to-surface deviation is critical.
