From 3D Scan to CNC-Cut Foam Kits

A lot of composite builders still hand cut their foam core. It works, but it's slow and hard to repeat. We help clients move that work onto the CNC, starting with a 3D scan.

Digitising existing templates

One client had a set of physical templates they had used for years. We 3D scanned and processed 67 templates into clean CNC data. Now they can CNC cut their foam kits instead of cutting them by hand: faster, more accurate and repeatable every time.

Check before you cut

On a foam deck kit, the 3D scan showed some irregularities. Before committing expensive foam, we cut a 3 mm MDF template and checked it against the real part. It's a cheap step that saves material and time.

Kits that fit the mould

We cut foam kits with rebates and 3D shaping, so each piece sits correctly against the mould. That means less filling, less fairing and a better laminate.

Our scanning capability

We offer mobile and workshop-based 3D scanning for objects from 100 mm up to 10 m. We also specialise in reverse engineering and scan-based modelling, especially for composites and CNC-cut materials.
